Which one of these should I get. Already have superb estate so leaning towards smaller civic. Which engine is more reliable. I'm guessing the civic will return better mpg and has more modern styling.
Is one more reliable than the other ?
    Thanks

Yep. Some nice accords and civics going for reasonable money at the mo. They are meant to be bulletproof .

I don't think either has any inherent issues.

it depends on milage and service history

2008 was bad accord Honda year the worst so civic should be more reliable

accord brakes and engines had problems then transmissions
    then paint

civic was paint then engine then wheels and hubs

both had lots of interior accessory problems

accord got a bit better 2009 and better 2010

    civic 2010

2011 was good year for civic

as was it for the accord

You're talking about 1.8 civics and 2.0 accords specifically?
