Note: I received a pm some time back from bernard saying that perhaps I should ignore this photo for POTW as he was aware that a lot of thanks were being given out of genuine sympathy in relation to the story which accompanied the photo, rather than technical excellence. I was and am inclined to ignore that humble offer as surely photography is at its strongest when capturing or reflecting significant, and often profound emotional life moments.

The photo was originally accompanied with this brief explanation:

"Following the recent loss of my son, I have kind of lost my interest in my photography. I just couldn't see the beauty anymore. Today my grandson came dressed in his camo trousers demanding we go photograph the birds. Thanks little man."

@Myksyk have to agree wholeheartedly. This is what photography is about. Capturing the moment and life's treasures. Thanks to @bernard0368 for sharing, it certainly put things into perspective and made me think and smile when I read his original post. Thoroughly deserving of POTW.
