    Hello,

I started a job 2 weeks ago ( which isnt great and is only a 2 month fixed term contract) after having no work for 2 months. I graduated college over a year ago.

I now have got called for an interview for a job that i really really want ( its in my field) on Thursday. However, i do not have the current job i work in ( 2weeks one) on the CV i gave to the company i have an interview for on Thursday.

Should i be honest and mention that i am currently working in the job for 2 weeks on Thursday and say they got an old CV? or should i just play dumb and hope for the best?

If successful at the interview. The only thing i can get caught out on is when they have to look for a P45? i need that from the job i work in for 2 weeks, or can i used the P45 from the company i worked in beforehand?

Really need help, thanks in advance.

Why would you not tell them about it? I'd say that situation happens often enough.

They will have to look for a P45 however you can alternatively phone the Revenue and ask for your tax credits to be transferred to the new employment, assuming you get it, rather than providing a P45.

Tell them about it. You shouldn't feel guilty not in the current climate. Employers are cut throat about hiring you should feel no guilt about pursuing other opportunities.

It's only a 2 month contract, perfectly understandable to look for something a bit more secure.

You're two weeks into the job, the recruitment process will likely take another couple of weeks and the company you'd be joining most likely expect the successful candidate to require a month's notice anyway.

Being in employment is validation that another employer rates you. I'd definitely not hide it.

Thanks guys! In regards to getting references though, they will hardly go the company I was working in for 2 weeks for?

References are usually provided by the applicant, so it'll be up to you.

You've only got a 2 month contract there, the recruitment process could take up to a month, no reason not to ask them for a reference under those circumstances.
