Multiple Eyes with new Sky I/O connector

    Hi all,

I have one of the new Sky boxes and am looking to setup a second eye.

I have a 4-way distribution box that worked with the old "RF 2" output but that doesn't seem to work with the new I/O link.

Whats the easiest way to set it up so I can have a second eye?

I have all the required cables ran to each room and eyes are set-up on the TV's ready to go, it's just no power will go to them if I use the 4-way adapter.

The distribution amp. was powered from RF2 then? Seems the IO link struggles to power anything much & you'll need a separate PSU.

Does the IO link have an input for power? (I know the Triax version does.) The amplifier probably does but might not be near a power source?

As thurson right fully says, best I/O link to use is the one made by Triax that enables you to connect a power supply directly to it and you can use up to a 4 way amp such as a global f140 amp ,

Otherwise you will need an i/o link and a distribution amp such as the f180 which comes with an external psu to power it.

My amplifier is near a socket in the attic. I have the F140. The red "power light" lights up when just using the I/O link.

There's a space in it for a power supply as well though.

You reckon all I need so is a plug for it? What kind will I get? 12VDC?

    This would do the trick

The i/o link gives about 9.5volts which isn't enough to run more than 1 magic eye hence the need for a psu. It will light up the f140 but it is faint, when u add the power supply you will instantly notice how much redder the amp lights up.

    Hey folks,
Sorry to hijack a thread but maybe someone might be able to help, Heres my question.
I have used an I/O before in the conventional sense, T.V in room A with magic eye<-> Sky box in room B with I/O and RG6 (co-axial cable) in-between. But I want to know can I use the I/O alongside a magic eye purely for control and still use HDMI for picture/Audio ? TV and box are less than 1 meter from each other just divided by a wall.

    Thanks

    Dave.

Run HDMI for picture n use I/o link with magic eye to control it will work perfectly.

Can you split the HDMI output in two?
Can you have both TV's on at once?

You would need a HDMI splitter box to enable you to split a HD signal to TV TVs. Or connect one TV via scarf or rf if your happy not to get a full HD pic on the second tv
