Hey lads, I was wondering if any of ye knew the answer to a question I have.

So I'm currently self employed but due to the recession I'll have to close soon. A mate said he could swing me a internship where he works but I don't know if I'm eligible. I know being self employed means I can't claim the dole, does the same apply to job bridge?

if you worked as an employee in the last 4 years, you may have paid Class A PRSI and should apply to your local Intreo Centre or social welfare local office for Jobseeker’s Benefit. Your Intreo centre or social welfare local office will check their records to find out whether you have enough Class A contributions to get Jobseeker’s Benefit. You might still qualify for JSA. Unfortunately for Jobsbridge rules apply as outlined by Lundar.
