    Would have gone for Barshim because of how epic the high jump was this year, but then again he lost to Bondarenko as often as he beat him, so he wasn't dominant. Hard to argue with a WR also. Still don't think an indoor pole vault should count as outdoor WR though.

    Finally recognition for Valerie Adams.

    Adams deserves her award. I am concerned over the lack of respect been shown to Dennis Kimetto and endurance athletes in general. One could argue that the best looking man won the award but this is athletics not the teen choice awards.

    To be fair he broke one of the most iconic and out of reach records in world athletics. One could argue that the marathon is only now starting to come in line with the records of the men's distance events on the track, and will probably get lowered again next year, and again the year after.
