Broadband Help

I have a DSL broadband connection with sky since January. My speeds were never great e.g. 3.5mb but it was just about enough for me. Recently it slowed to a snails pace and after a week of being on the phone, having router replaced they rang tonight and said it was their fault. I didnt really understand what they were saying but it was along the lines of my line was an attained line and that due to an error they had cut my speed. Due to the nature of my line that cut was not reversible and as it was their fault they would let me out of the contract. Does this make sense to anyone?

Also if i can get out of my contract with Sky what are my options? Ive looked online and Vodafone and Eircom are the only other fixed line options but my line wont give me anymore than 4mb. Net1 maybe a a wireless option. Are there any plans for faster bb in my area? Im about a mile from Greenore in County Louth on the Carlingford exchange.

Edit. I also checked the EE 4G coverage and it is very close to this area.

EE 4G is your best bet. I live in Templetown just along the road from you and the hill blocks EE for me, but I know you can get it in Greenore.

Net1 are not taking on more customers at least until March this year on their wireless network, they are at max capacity. Fibre wont be installed in Cooley until mid 2016 by current plans.
