    Expanding on dbran's response.

A "good" website can contribute a lot to most businesses and generate a steady stream of customers, i.e. an asset to your business.
A badly planned website with inappropriate content and no promotion is an expense.

In many ways a website is similar to printed flyers, if looks bad/cheap, does not have the information the potential client wants, and does not appear in front of the people in your catchment area it won't get you any customers.

How much custom it will generate depends on the number of people searching online for a florist in your area.

There are lots of way to market a business both on and off line. Before you do anything develop a proper marketing strategy to ensure all your promotions work together, and make sure you can measure the response of any activity you do.
