Job Application form

Hi all,

I am applying for a job where there is an application form that needs to be filled out, Includes full education record, job history etc. Thing is on the top is says "attach CV (If desired)"

I am not sure what to make of it. Would you attach a CV or not and add a cover letter with it? Anyone ever come across a similar situation?

I would attach a CV, and a cover letter for that role. I recently applied for a number of positions with multinationals, where I had to do a very thorough online application. But when it came to interview stage, it was my CV we talked about.

I find application form limiting, as usually there is space/word count application and you can often just present information in the given format - a CV and cover letter gives you room to wax lyrical, so I would always say, yes, attach a CV - but make sure its a good one and not just another replica of what is in the application form - include skills, examples of stuff you did well etc.
