Penneys formal trousers/jeggings, any good as a stop gap?

Hi I need a few formal wear trousers, but with the sales only around the corner I'm reluctant to pay full price now. Is there anything in Penneys that would carry me for the next month on a budget?.
    Thanks
    S

[/QUOTE] I suppose jeggings are not really formal, but a formal look is what I'm seeking....tried on black jeggings in Penneys today, hadn't much time, but the size seemed tighter than usual....

I find the fit a bit odd with Pennys Trousers. As someone said you can normally pick up a pair basis smart black trousers in Marks and Spencers quite cheaply or maybe try Dunnes Stores.

Might sounds weird but try Tesco's. The one out in Finglas is huge and you can get very good quality basics tere, I find.

Try H&M, their formal wear can be very good for it's price. All depends on what stock is in, but I've picked up a few things in there for work that could have passed for something twice as expensive.
