Meant to post it the other day http://offers.pigsback.com/offer/151840/leopardstown-racecourse

Was going to get it myself, normally go down the 27th but thinking of going down Stephens Day this year.

Some quality battles to look forward to with the last two Cheltenham Gold Cup and Champion Hurdle winners pairing off in South Dublin this Christmas.

    From The Post -

A WHO'S who of jump racing's biggest names, including the last two Champion Hurdle and Cheltenham Gold Cup winners, could be in action at Leopardstown over Christmas after the track unveiled entries for its four-day showstopper.

Old rivals Hurricane Fly and Jezki, who have won the last two Champion Hurdles, are set to clash in the Ryanair Hurdle on December 29, while Bobs Worth and Lord Windermere, the 2013 and 2014 Gold Cup winners, could meet in the Lexus Chase a day earlier.

    More

Speaking of The Lexus, RIP to Imperial Call. I was there when he won in 97. Wasn't on him though. I think I backed Merry Gale that day.

A very close second to Cheltenham is Leopardstown at Christmas, entries look stellar once again. Lexus Chase and the Christmas Hurdle looking the pick of the days on the Sunday.

I strongly fancy the fly to win again and think he will get the biggest roar of the week. Foxrock EW in the paddy power and it should be a great xmas

If Foxrock wins the Paddy Power, he should be booed by the crowd in the same way that Top Cees was booed when he won the Chester Cup, but the Irish racegoers seem to love the cute hoor type of cheat so he'll probably be cheered all the way home.

If Foxrock wins the Paddy Power, he should be booed by the crowd in the same way that Top Cees was booed when he won the Chester Cup, but the Irish racegoers seem to love the cute hoor type of cheat so he'll probably be cheered all the way home.

    Taken from Irish Racing website

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Foxrock, placed third, ridden by A.P. Heskin, and trained by T.M. Walsh. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned.
A.P. Heskin, stated that his instructions were to jump his mount off 5th or 6th, give him space at his fences, get into a good rhythm and do his best from there. He said early on the race was developing as he planned but after passing the stands, he clipped a heel, stumbled badly and lost his action and from there on he wasn't entirely happy with his mount, with him being behind the bridle from down the back straight. He said from about 4 out he was riding as strong as he could bearing in mind he wasn't entirely happy with how he was moving.
T.M. Walsh confirmed the instructions and stated that watching the race live he felt his rider could've been a bit more forceful between 3 out and 2 out, and he could've used his whip at this stage.
However his rider explained on dismounting how he wasn't entirely happy with how the horse moved in the second half of the race and as the horse returned to the stable yard,
Mr Walsh noticed that his front shoes were missing, and at this stage his riders report made sense and he was satisfied with the ride.
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Foxrock had pulled off both his front shoes in running and was slightly lame post race.
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered by both rider and trainer, but were of the opinion A.P. Heskin was in breach of Rule 213 in that he failed to report in the first instance something that may have affected the running of his mount, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

10/1 with Bet 365. If he runs he won't be 10/1 I would say. Potential for a bit of back to lay free bet action.

Barry Connell gave him as his bet for Christmas out of his runners for the week on TV during the week he said it was the season target surprised he came out with that don't think Ted would of been so forthcoming.
