i really hate microstuttering /screen tearing and input lag but was wondering if a monitor with 144hz would be good enough.

Was also looking for decent sites to buy stuff from i know of Komplett and dabs.ie have used sites like overclockers.co.uk but the exchange rate is not that good and with postage can be more expensive

    cheers

I go to www.compare.eu and buy stuff on Hardwareversand.de through that (they have an affiliate programme that means people that click through the referral links on compare.eu get price reductions from HWVS - but also other suppliers such as Amazon or Pixmania).

I'm not sure about G-Sync - it's good and clever tech for sure, but when it's not a standard across the board and it still being somewhat early days for it, no one wants it to be the betamax or HD-DVD of the video refresh rate management world :)

I still don't understand what it is, but PCGamer did an article on new Samsung monitors coming out next year that use the G-Sync alternative Freesync, which will apparently save you some money.

I think g-sync and/or freesync are great ideas, I suffer from horrible v-sync issues that I've had across two nvidia cards, it can be managed but requires messing which I shouldn't have to do.

Until it's a standard it won't take off though, Nvidia are fooling themselves if they think they're version will catch on when it adds £200 to the price of a monitor.
