    Hi guys

I am 17, going on 18, and next week am heading to get an eye test done for contact lenses.

I have worn glasses all my life, never went a day without them.

Would love to hear other peoples experiences with contacts in general and also the transition from glasses to contacts.

    All the best
    Sam

    Just a few things.

Trial and error. I don't know what optician you are going with but ask them can they order in a number of different types for you. Dailies, monthlies. Different brands. I was with Vision Express and I must have tried about 10 different types at no extra cost. If you have astigmatism this is especially important. Once you find the most comfortable pair I would start to look online to see where you can get them the cheapest.

Try to use them only when you need to. I over used them for the first year and a half or so, went most days with them in all day. Then they got very uncomfortable because of the over use, to the stage where I couldn't wear them any more. Some people get a way with wearing them all the time but I would guess it catches up on most people in the end.

Try your best to keep them clean. It is your eyes after all.

Other then that its plain sailing. Good luck.

I have found Dailies to be easily the best. No worries re protein build up etc. If your an active type like me, I surf! You can simply take them out after and put in a fresh pair with no real expense. I had problems with Monthlies before them.

Only problem I have now is that I like them so much I over wear them! Must stick to the 8 hours per day and no more.
