I will have grey on the wall.
    Removing a disastrous red.
    Is grey a good colour?
Will that be too much grey?

You can go for dark blue carpet, it looks good with grey walls. Grey walls are good if you decorate them with colorful accessories.

Thanks. I think the red carpet looks great, but it needs to be vacuumed nearly every day.
Is dark blue good in that sense? I don't think it will be?

    Is it a hallway?
If you post a photo we may be more accurate but until then:
    How much light is there?
    Which grey?
Lots of greys will work & I will advise on that.
The carpet ideally will have more than one colour in a high traffic area.
There are lovely warm 'grey' arrest mottled with heather/taupe/rust etc which will deflect the eye from minor marks & look good for longer without constant vacuuming.

Then go for Air force blue, it doesn't need to be vacuumed everyday.

    Thanks for the replies.
I looked up air force blue and I'm not keen on it.
It is for a hall that is dark in places (outside bedrooms) and light in others (by front door, kitchen and living room).
When I win the lotto, I'll get a parquet floor, but until then carpet will have to do!
This kind of light grey will be on the wall.

Have a look at cormar carpets 'sensations' they have lovely greys that would look great with that colour - & are bleach cleanable.
They are not mottled but see what you think.....

In my experience mid-strength colours are the best for hiding dirt on carpets. Dark carpet shows up light dirt, while light colours show dark dirt.

Also cut pile carpet is easier to clean and less likely to permanent stains than loop pile carpet.

I think you can go for some white Hospitality Carpets as well they also look good .
