    Hi all,

I know some people will say that no second hand car dealer is reliable (:P) but I'm just wondering can anybody recommend one in Dublin?

I'm in the process of changing cars.. Looking for a decent Corsa or Clio with a small engine, cheap to tax and insure and a decent NCT on it. Have about €1600 to spend.

Seen one or two on car sales website notably N4 Car Sales but reviews from a few years ago on this seem negative.

Basically just want to buy from somewhere where if something goes wrong a few months down the line I can go back hassle free.

    Thanks a mil.

Find a good second hand car, rather than a dealer. If you have a mechanic, ask if they can check cars out for you. At that price, I can't see dealers having amazing stock at all.

With such a low budget your are better off buying private from someone who is the actual owner/driver of the car they are selling and doesn't dabble in the 2nd hand market.

I think the A A car check is about €100 which if you don't know what to look for would be well worth the investment. For your budget you'll defiantly get a better car through a private sale.

The majority of cars for sale by dealers in your budget OP will be trade-in cast offs where the dealer will not spend much more than a wash and vac on them to sell them on as the profit is small on them. Better off buying private in this price range as your dealing with the owner who knows the history of the car.
