Interview for Aldo

    Hi,

Has anyone had an interview for Aldi before? I've got an interview for Monday. I've never really had a retail interview before. I've done interviews for soccer companies and a FAS course but they all have a different vibe. I feel I'm not very good at them.

    How should I approach it?

As for being presentable, should I wear a shirt and smart trousers or a shirt and skinny jeans with boots?

    Wear a suit for starters.

I'm not sure a suit is an absolutely necessary but it couldnt hurt. A definite no on the skinny jeans with boots. In general, not just for the interview.

    Thanks!

And of course, I meant Aldi.

Is it for shop assistant's role?
If so, I think you can expect a quick numerical test (they will for example ask you how much change would you give back if the bill is €12.48 and the customer gives you €20). I would practise those a bit, if I were you.
Generally in ALDI they do not promote staff above the store manager's level. What I mean is that you can be promoted to a Deputy Manager's position, to Assistant Manager and Store Manager, but you can never go beyond that. So try not to state that it is your ambition to be an Area Manager.
Talk a lot about: efficiency, flexibility (you are prepared to work early mornings and late nights!), being focused and productive...
    Good luck!
