Dirty Diesel

Anyone else had problems with the diesel in <snip>, Ballsbridge? Thought I'd destroyed my clutch until it magically got better when I refilled from a different station. Only realised it was the fuel when my engine started stuttering again the next time I filled up from there. Is it scrubbed diesel or something?

Yes, I used it twice in succession, 1 top up and one full tank and within a few miles of the full tank my check engine light came on. Mechanic blamed it on bad fuel, and the light went out shortly after I diluted it with fuel from a branded station.
Will never buy there again, it's not worth it.

Best advice is only buy from known brands.

Can they be reported for this?

I can't prove anything. I would not even know who to report it to.
I paid cash, so I have no transaction history to even fall back on.
It may yet prove to be an issue with the engine.

But, I won't be buying fuel in the D4 area again, and hopefully spreading the word will prevent people making the mistake that I made.

The guards? I was assume what they are doing is against the law.

Don't think there's anything under criminal law against selling dirty fuel so I doubt the Gardaí could get involved even if they wanted. Of course there are other possibilities such as illegal fuel but that would be a matter for Customs (who tend to have greater powers than Gardaí in such matters).
