Can anybody recommend an independant adviser or consultant company who offers a top class service ,ie pro active in helping the farmer maximise his position under cap and helpfull advise in general, I find Teagasc advisers not really interested in smaller operations , even though I would be prepared to pay more than Teagasc fees for a company or adviser who really performed:)

Best advice I can give is keep numbers down and enjoy an odd pint and family time.

I had a private adviser a few years back that was advising me to go from 40 to 100 dairy cows on 60 acres when quotas go and buy in all the silage. Might look great on paper but it would be some nightmare sourcing quality silage and if you had a repeat of spring 2013 it would be a hard lesson.
