Installed an update and now google apps wont work

    Hi

    I got a new tablet. Was working fine. I had logged into to google apps (play, gmail etc) using an email account. (android kitkat 4.4)

    It then said there was an update to install which i did.

    Now none of the apps will work.

    Ive tried removing the account and re signing in.

    whats gone wrong?

    Can you post specific error messages or what you're trying to sign in to?

    What make / model is the tablet?

    Was it an update to KitKat (4.4.4). Should see it in settings and about.

    (i did a factory reset, i was pretty pissed so its back running now)

    I presume it was an update.

    tablet is ASUS transformer TF103CX

    the error was "Unfortunately google news and weather is not working now" if i remember correctly......the same for all the google apps

    Looking at settings now its says it is 4.4.2

    i presume the update will come back ( i wont install it though)

    If it happens again try clearing the data & cache for the broken apps, worked for me.

    i spent about three hours looking at google forums, turning things on and off, clearing stuff, disabling stuff etc.

    luckily i just got it today so when i restored it it was the same (just working)

    it only came after the update was installed (like you see on a laptop)
