Looking to Buy a Corolla Verso 1.6 petrol, converting from Diesel to Petrol as not doing the miles to keep DPF regenerating (long story), Anyway looking at a few cars and drove a 08 with 153,000 km (looked at service history), looking at a 2007 with 100,000 km in next couple of days (haven't seen service history yet ) , What exactly should I be looking for ?? what has or needs replacing at xxxx km, appreciate any replies

Just evidence of routine servicing, oil and filter changes, brake pads, etc. They have a timing chain so that should be good for the lifetime of the engine. Don't be afraid to ring the garages that stamped the book either and ask them what was done.

They are a fairly reliable engine and car over all but even the most reliable car will develop problems down the road if it hasn't been cared for properly.

Hi pkvader, didn't realise I've had verso 2yrs already, but I've had no problems ( thank god ), had NCT in Jan, didn't do anything to it before NCT, passed no problem. All I'd say it keep it serviced regular, petrol 1.6 is fine economical enough on the odd long journey we do. Best car reliability wise I've had without jinxing myself, good luck with it if you get one 😉

They're based on the 03-09 Avensis. Most 08s will be the Luna model that got nice added spec like tinted rear windows, upgraded stereo, climate control etc.
Make sure any 08 you look at isn't on emissions tax as it's quite high. Very few post July 08s in petrol out there though.
