In three of the four recorded incidents the seal let the penguin go. But on one of the more recent occasions, the seal killed and ate the penguin after trying to mate with it.

This has been happening for years...

A penguin on holidays is driving his car through Westmeath when he notices that the oil pressure light is on. He gets out to look and sees oil dripping out of the engine. He drives to the nearest town and stops at the first garage.

After dropping the car off, the penguin goes for a walk around town. He sees an ice-cream van and, being a penguin in Westmeath, decides that something cold would really hit the spot. He gets a big dish of ice cream and sits down to eat. Having no hands he makes a real mess trying to eat with his flippers. After finishing his ice cream, he goes back to the garage and asks the mechanic if he's found the problem. The mechanic looks up and says "It looks like you blew a seal."

"No no," the penguin replies, "it's just ice cream."

In the video you can see about five penguins and a number of unidentified birds just staring at the unfolding events. I mean, I realise they are not the strongest of animals but they could have went over and at least attempted to intervene. At one stage a bird approaches the seal as if he is going to do something, but decides against it and walks past. The central focus of the video is of a large seal on top of a penguin, who is barely visible under the weight of the large mammal. The seal keeps humping and humping while the other penguins watch on blankly. Later in the video, we see about ten more penguins and two of the unidentified birds (mentioned earlier) standing up with vigour, but still they do not act. The screams of the penguin's bellowing is heard as they walk on past. The humping continues until the video is cut short, leaving the fate of the penguin unknown.
