Fiesta MK4 heating?only works on 4 (but cold air)

    Hi all,

in my Fiesta I can not use my heater. I also can only choose "4" to have cool-ish air on blast but all the other options (1,2,3) don't work at all, just slightly cold air coming out.

But in general I dont have warm air coming out (which makes it horrible damp inside atm).

I was reading something about a resistor in the passenger foot-area?

    A common thing?

Any tipps/sites where to get the necessary part for that issue?

    Thanks a lot!!

Sounds like possibly 2 separate issues, both of which are common to the Fiesta.

The resistor will be the cause of your fan not working on the lower speed settings. These are very cheap from Ford.

However the resistor has nothing to do with controlling the temperature of the air, so you may also need the valve for that, which again is a common failure on the Fiestas and is cheap from the dealer.

The heater control valve is on the bulkhead inside the engine compartment and is a DIY job to replace.

No harm cleaning the heater matrix while you're there
