Anpost Tracking parcel from abroad not on website

A bit of background, I was expecting couple of parcels from abroad with tracking numbers ending in NL, I been looking at anpost website to track but were not showing at all, I called anpost early today before heading for work to check on them, the guy said no hasn't arrived in the country, so I thought they wouldn't arrive today.

Earlier today anpost delivered the 2 parcels, they had an Irish tracking as usual also they had the original NL numbers, I put the original NL tracking numbers in the anpost website but same as before nothing found. I put the Irish tracking number, I was able to find it but did not show the original NL number, in the past other tracking numbers coming from abroad I was able to track them with both numbers.

I wonder can anyone check for me, if anyone would have a tracking number from an item coming from abroad so will finish with other than IE that can check if anpost is tracking it.

It is very handy to track on the anpost website the original tracking numbers so we know when item arrived in Ireland and when will be deliver, hope they haven't change it. I sent a mail to anpost earlier but no reply.

No it still works the same way it always did. I have a parcel on the way that arrived in ireland yesterday and i can track it on the an post website using the original tracking number.

pop the tracking number in here and see what it says http://www.17track.net/en/

Thanks for that, I thought maybe they stopped, yes 17track shows the same as the Post NL website. I must be a glitch with my parcels, can I ask what country yours came from?

In my experience I buy alot of stuff via USA and Finland....the Finnish tracking numbers work on the An Post site but the USA ones don't, once I see it's left America I ring An Post and give them the USA number and they give me back the Irish tracking number they assigned it and that works for me here then....

It depends on whether or not the originating postal carrier has a tracking agreement with AnPost. If they do, then you can input the foreign tracking number into the AnPost site and you will see it as soon as it arrives in Ireland. If they don't, then unfortunately you have no way of knowing when it will arrive.

Last week I received a few parcels from abroad, most of which showed up on the AnPost website as soon as they arrived in Ireland, so I knew when they would be delivered to my house. But two of them never showed up on the AnPost site even though they were delivered by AnPost and I signed for them.

I didn't know that, strange that anpost wasn't able to track it even when I called them. What countries were your parcels coming from?

I've never had a problem with a us mail tracking number. as soon as it receives its first scan in ireland it will be trackable on the an post website using it US tracking number.

To be honest I can't remember as I receive a lot of parcels from different places. But it is down to the individual originating postal carriers rather than the country. For instance, if someone in Germany sends you a parcel they can use Deutsche Post or DHL postal service or Hermes or several other postal carriers. Some of these will show up in AnPost but some won't. The bigger the country, the greater choice of carriers they will have. Also, if someone uses a courier service, like DHL Express or UPS, it may not be handled by AnPost at all. And of course finally you have to take into account that AnPost's system may jut be a bit unreliable.
