Water Pump Problem

    Hi All,

First off, I know very little on plumbing - electric and electronic more my thing.

Almost 2 years ago we converted the attic. We installed a shower room in it along with a Grundfos STC 2.0 pump for the shower.
Yesterday morning the pump appeared to have died.
    I have a few questions.

Is it worth it just to replace the mains PCB (can pick on up the UK for between £17 - £20)?,

    or

Will I have to replace the whole pump?

Now, if I have to replace the pump itself, should I repalce like for like and stay with an STC or would I be better off spending a little extra and getting a 'regenerative' pump instead?
On that point, whats the main difference between a Centrifugal and a Regenerative pump.

    Thanks in advance.
