Oxygen sensor Opel Vectra

Check engine light has been coming on and off on my 2010 Opel Vectra for the last couple of weeks. Dropped it in to an Opel dealer last week and the only thing they could see was the 'Oxygen Sensor' needed to be reset which cost me €50. Everything looked ok for a day or 2 but the light came back on at the weekend. I've just left it back in and they say if the sensor needs to be replaced it'll cost €300.

Anyone got any advice on this. Is it necessary to get this replaced, or is there another way around it, or a cheaper alternative?

Oxygen sensor is a lamda sensor and you'll get one cheaper either online or in your local factors.

You can't 'reset' an oxygen sensor, they just erased the code and charged you 50 quid. This is why their refered to as main stealers. 300 quid is mad money. A local indy will be a lot cheaper. Where are you based, might be able to recommend going somewhere....
