I've seen a few videos on YouTube about the new 11" HP Stream 11 laptops and wondering if anyone knew when they might be coming to Ireland. I just think it'd be good for college and that.
    Thanks

Should be on Amazon UK and else where by the end of this November. You can buy them now at HP UK site and use parcel motel. I'm eying one up to but going to wait for black Friday deals as I might get one cheaper or a betterodel for a similar price

Anyone got one of thse yet? Any use? How does windows 8.1 perform on it?

In the market for a new small laptop (mostly for word processing and web access). Scared of Windows 8/8.1.

If you're a long user of windows 7 you will look at windows 8 and think what in the hell were they thinking haha. Some people like it and some people don't, you just need to use it yourself to properly see if it's for you. If I was to get one of these I'd put Linux mint on it because it would perform even better than 8/8.1

I must check out Linux mint so.

My problem with 8/8.1 stems from a laptop my father had/has. It's a very long story, but it was riddled with problems from the day we updated it to 8.1. (had to update drivers etc seperately, was meant to do this before the update and was meant to know this despite not being prompted etc yada yada yada). It would drop out from internet continuously. Terrible wifi reception despite xp machine right beside it with full signal etc.

In the end he switched it to Windows 7 and it's running perfectly.

Linux mint is very powerful (and free) but sometimes, to install a program you need to go through the command line which is what stops me from having it on every one of my machines haha

I bought one on cyber Monday for 152 sterling on a 15 PC off deal on HP UK, won't be delivered until Dec 23 though. I am considering cancelling the steam though as I was looking at the lenovo s20 30 for 230e last night shorter battery but bigger harddrive. I need to way up what's important plus I don't fancy the blue

As far as I know you get 1tb of cloud storage with it and yeah the blue is kinda stupid looking but I did have an all blue laptop before so I can't say much haha

Yeah the colour is a bit off-putting alright.

Saw this one too: Acer Aspire V3-112p

Fair bit more expensive, but looks neat and has a bigger onboard hard drive. Can't find many reviews online though.
