Does anyone know what's a minimum limit allow you to work at tesco a day ? i've heard is 5 hrs,and you're not really allowed to do it 4hrs. I'm only asking cause i work for tesco almost 7 years, now i just moved to other department still doing 20hrs a week, where i'm doing 3days - 4hrs and one day of 9hrs. i'll bd grateful for any response. By the way i'm a day worker.

I used to work for Tesco on a 20 hour contract, 4 hour shifts over 5 days. It sucked but nothing stopping them from doing it!

The minimum is a four hour shift, no three hour shifts etc. Its in your hand book.

Ask your union rep if you think there maybe a problem . I do the odd 4 hour shift.

There is also verylittlehelps dot com for questions about your place of work. Fantastic forum.

    Mod-note: that's http://www.verylittlehelps.com/ - interesting concept.

    More or less the same.

Tesco Ireland adopt the same policy's regarding working hours. And everything else tbh .

I have been with the forum and the company for years . Yet to see any difference apart from a few minor things like rates of pay. Our policy in Ireland seems to be built around the USDAW partnership agreement.

I have yet to see a Mandate union agreement with Tesco. They like to keep colleges in the dark a bit.
