    Hi,

Anyone here deal with any UK VW Dealers. I am looking for 2010/ 2011 Passat CC to bring back to Ireland. Trying last few days but noting I want has come up (or usually just too expensive)

I have checked Car Giant and way cheaper than the VW dealers.

    Cheers

There should be plenty of these cars on the likes of autotrader.co.uk but like over here they tend to have strong resale values. If you are not finding many within your budget then you might have to consider raising it or dropping back a year.

Thanks for the reply. Want to stick with dealer so will drop a year or increase budget. No price for 170bhp model on VRT site I'm looking at. Will have to give them a call.

    autotrader.co.uk list dealer cars also.

170bhp version is listed under Passat 2.0TDi - 4dr - Sports Coupe (non convertible) rather than under CC.

VW only dropped the Passat name from the CC in 2012.

    Cheers. VRT is expensive :(

Had a quick look alright. Looking at 2.5k cheaper than buying here. Will look more into it tho

There would probably be more movement on a dealer's price over here than in the UK. Also very unlikely a UK dealer warranty would be transferable unless it's one of those third party warranties from the likes of mapfre or warranty direct.

True. I do my research and see what happens.

There is no guarantee that the VRT price will drop by much as VRT prices can and usually are all over the place. Also there is no new CC until at least 2016.

What is your budget incl VRT OP?

12.5k all cleared would be the budget

Being honest you haven't a hope of getting a decent 2010/2011 Passat CC for that sort of money imo.

My cousin's husband bought an Irish 2010 GT 170bhp DSG with only 70k km a few months ago for just under €15k privately. I'd say you will be looking at a 2009 model at best I'd say. BTW anything older than mid 2010 will be a 4 seater rather than 5.

From doing some more digging you are correct in what you say. Might have to increase the budget if I want to get the 5 seater.

Is your cousin's husband happy with the car?

Yes he is. I had a 2011 one myself up to last month. I had one major issue with it that was probably just a rare case and was sorted under warranty but other than that never gave me any other trouble.

keep a close eye on the advert websites here, especially this time of year as you will drive a hard bargain in the run up to the end of the year.
Remember you will end up paying close to €1.30 for a £1 when alll is said and done and as another poster pointed out, uk cars dealers may give a tank of diesel of £200 off the asking price but not much more. Also add in the travel costs.
Plenty of CC's already imported already which people are selling on, so try to get a deal locally first if possible.

Don't rule out buying privately in the UK either. With your budget you will not get a car with transferable manufacturers warranty and will pay dealer price for no real benefit. Just have the car history verified and do an detailed car inspection as well as all the other usual precautions. But as said above if you need a five seater you will most likely have to increase the budget.

Thanks for all the comments and advise. I'm doing a good bit of research. If I increase to 15k would open up a lot of options. Must see if spending that kind of cash on a car 4/5 years old would make sense. I'm fixed on getting the CC instead of an A4.

I won't talk you out of it. I bought one privately in the UK last year and am loving it.

Friend of mine brought an 11 teg from the north last Feb/March. He sourced it off usedcarsni.co.uk

He's delighted with it, no bother and lovely to drive. Massive boot if you've lots of gear to haul and still good legroom for backseat passengers.
    He got the 140bhp model.

They're a lovely looking machine in fairness

Thanks for the post. Good site. Great detail. What you pay for the 2010 as a ball park figure. How much was VRT? If you don't mind telling me.
