Looking to go on a short break end Feb/March with some warm weather (doesnt have to be very hot) and was thinking of here. I dont know anything about the Algarve I have only been to Lisbon but never anywhere else in Portugal looking for a cultural part but not too quiet we are couple in our 30's love sightseeing, cafes, restaurants, shops and relaxing by pool. Anyone been here early Spring. Going for about 4/5 days just to chill out not do anything too strenuous. Hotels about 3* is it expensive in the Algarve?

I don't think you will be chilling by the pool - average temps in the Algarve November - March are 9/16c

Weather will be mild but not hot. Algarve is cheap enough for food and drink and you should get cheap enough accommodation at that time of year. I would go to the Canaries though if you are looking for warm weather.

16 would be ok bored with canaries I was in Gran Canaria and Tenerife when young I am torn between Algarve or maybe Morocco looks culturally exciting with all the lovely foods and architecture.

Went to Albufeira over the summer, loved the place, pretty sure its still quite active around the time you'd be going over too. Very reasonable prices for accommodation and food, drink etc, Algarve Shopping Centre is worth seeing if you're up for shopping.

Potentially returning next summer for 2 weeks this time I enjoyed it so much, lovely place and lovely people.

We went to Olaho at in October. 20 mins drive from Faro - stay at Real Marina hotel - very relaxing - Olhao is not overly touristy so its different from more commercial resorts

very quiet that time of year (having been there in february couple of years back) with many bars/restaurants/resorts closed and really only the locals around.

weather is mild but not overly warm, however there is some great deals to be got on hotels given the lack of tourists..oh and you will have the beaches pretty much to yourself
