Peak Vitali vs Peak Wladimir

    Who wins?

It had always been my opinion that Vitali would have been the superior boxer. However when I look at the power and physicality of Wladimir I'm beginning to think that he would be too strong for even a peak Vitali.

Vitali is a more natural fighter than Wlad I think, he's a born scrapper. I think he'd get to Wlad eventually and knock him out. It's all academic anyway as brothers would never fight. It'd be impossible to do what professional boxers do to their own siblings anyway, your mind wouldn't be in it.

Wlad would win every round until Vitali knocks him out.

Wlad is a boxer and Vitali is a fighter. Wlad is more polished and hits harder.

Vitali can look awkward at times but he is extremely effective. He is not as hard hitting (still hits bloody hard though) but his chin is made of sterner stuff.

Wlad has managed to protect that chin of his for the past 10 years and has fought accordingly. Vitali takes more chances, relied on his reflexes alot, hands down by his side etc... and was always going to age quicker with that kind of style.

Vitali is imo one of the best heavyweights ever. Wlad is good, but not close to him imo.

The one without the glass jaw. It's not really much of a debate, honestly.

It's a hell of a debate. Wlad is far more balanced and polished and technical. He is the better overall boxer, hits very hard and can go 12. Vitali may be a bit physically stronger and has a better chin. Wlad's fight to lose. Vitali can win by KO only IMO, and it's not a given that he gets it against Wlad.

silly post in fairness, its a really good debate.

you think the only difference between both is their chin? if you do, then you're very wrong

Vitali every time. Better chin, better power (I cannot believe how many people think Wlad has more power...Vitali crushes him). I also think Vitali was the smarter boxer and is more versatile

Common opponents have remarked that Wlad carries more power and he is obviously harder to catch clean.

If they were not brothers I'd have Wlad out pointing Vitali, you cannot KO what you cannot hit

It would be very similar to Lewis vs Vitali.

Wlad isn't better, he's just more cautious
Vitali has more options and can box and get stuck in to a fight, Vitali was the better of the 2 and his chin would be the big difference in the fight

I'd slightly favour a peak vitali, very close though.
If only wlad had vitali's chin he'd be a more impressive fighter.

I have always given this to Vitali, he has a better chin and key for me, he is more aggressive

    Agree.

Vitali's chin was good enough to challenge any heavy in any era.Honestly think he was one of the best ever.

Wlad would have been knocked out by Vitali and by countless other heavies like Lewis, Foreman, Tyson etc.

Don't really rate because of his average chin.

Wlad would have been out by the 2nd round if he had fought the Lewis that beat his brother to bits.

Vitali technically never lost in my book as well and I could see him beating virtually any HW ever.

Lewis gave him the beating of his life in fairness.

Half way through the fight now on youtube and he was giving him a good hiding, so much so he wore himself out.

Vitali is a tank, only maybe one or two heavies could beat him.

A few years younger Lewis would have ko'd him.

Vitali and Wlad have the opposite weakness, Wlad can't take a shot, but can avoid them and Vitali gets hit way too much, but can take them.

Lewis had no problems hitting him, neither did Sanders or Chris Byrd getting to his chin.

    He's beatable.

What about when he quit on his stool against Byrd or when he was seeing stars against Lewis?

Are you on drugs or something?

Let's get this straight, Lewis "beat him to bits" and gave him "the beating of his life" yet was BEHIND on points when the fight was stopped after just 6 rounds?

Care to explain how that happened?

It didn't happen, there was no beating of his life taken. He was winning the fight, he got cut, it happens.
