Soffit/Facia Replacement

The timber soffit/facia on our house is rotten so we're going to have to replace it very soon. I know there's a lot of cowboys out there, so I was thinking of advertising the job on Tradesmen.ie, however if anyone has any recommendations they'd be appreciated. We live in Leixlip so I'm sure most tradesmen around Dublin would cover the area.

Also, what sort of price would we be expected to pay? We have a 4 bed semi-detached house (not sure of the exact sq footage)

Best thing to do is measure it in feet. Then get 4 or 5 lads to price it and compare "per foot" charge. Bearing in mind you will have to change your gutters and down pipes too. Also worth noting that brown is about 1.5 times the price of white. It's abad time of year to be at that job can it wait until next summer

Thanks for the reply. Yes it's not immediately urgent but I wanted to get an idea of prices and maybe get it done around March. We'll probably go with white as that's what our neighbours have

If its rotten in places you cant price per ft/mtr as you don't know what needs replacing, there are a lot of cowboys out there all right that will just put pvc over the old rotten wood.
This needs to be removed, treated and replaced , I would say off the top of my head 1500 euro inc vat but as I say would need to see it really and you dont have to wait for better weather I would say get it done sooner rather than later as the rot will be spreading adding to the cost
