Not sure about this but throwing it out there, when it comes to kids & gifts I would be getting the bare minimum, nice things of course, always,I can't see the point of getting a whole load of expensive stuff just for 'show',besides, its not like they know the value of stuff, all that aside I would be buying practical stuff

I'm sure your kids will be thrilled on Christmas morning, and have happy childhood memories of practical presents for the rest of their lives.

I remember my mam once got me a bedside lamp for Christmas. Best Christmas ever.

Hmmmmm, I'm not sure either really. Define 'besides'.

Maybe you could buy some stolen goods(only kidding). I heard a couple of guys on the radio last week discussing how they order stuff and the criminals and junkies go and steal it for them. Really classy handing your kids stolen goods for Christmas.

Finished my gift shopping on Wednesday. I went the route of getting things during the Spring/Summer sales and stashing them away. The majority of my gifts are for the women in my family and two of them have birthdays in December. Online shopping is my friend too.
All I need to do now is get together a few small bits for my penpal in 'Murica and then that's it!

I only buy for three people, one child and two adults. Everything is bought and wrapped.

Bought a new set of dining room chairs last week, they came in 3 large boxes. Said boxes have been in the playroom since and used by 3 kids as everything from princess castle to zombie-bunker; far longer than some of their toys have kept their interest.

Kids get too much these days. Get new furniture for Christmas - kids' toys come free.

Precisely, practical gifts,it's great for the brain development also, when I was younger I got Britannia encyclopedias which to this day I was and am grateful to my parents for, toys and fun time are certainly so important also but to educate at an early age is key

Its christmas for gods sake, I let her be a kid and have some fun. Not everything has to be a practical gift.

I don't have the Oxford English at hand on this occasion, however, I don't believe its necessary somehow, how about you read the paragraph again,it might come to you then.

This my very own reservation with boards.is,people get so argumentative, so much fire in their bellies, jaysus;Every child deserves to have fun Christmas & all year round, give me a break

I thin kids can have a fun Christmas without a mountain of junk they won't care about a week later. A few nice presents are fine, but some parents (and grandparents) really go over the top.

I only buy presents that will actually be used. What's the point in buying sh!t that will be unused after a couple of weeks?
