pSure you claim it back here when you file, not from them. But its not my area of expertise.

For work anytime I've ordered items from a Non Irish supplier shipping into Ireland I call them give them the companys vat number and they don't charge the VAT.

Not sure how you go about it if you've already paid the vat, I think in the past I've contacted the supplier and they refunded us, again this would only apply if you're buying for a vat registered company.

The method has already been explained above in the link. You have to do it all manually basically. It's tedious but has worked for me several times.

I rang hardwareversand to make sure I was using the correct procedure. I was told there is an option to enter a VAT number and have VAT removed before you confirm the order,
I opened a new company account on the site, filled up the basket and went through every page carefully looking for the option to enter the VAT number. Clicked next and filled everything in. I skipped past the special comments section since there would be no need for this once I entered the VAT number. Before I came to any button to confirm the order, order confirmed came up which included the price with VAT. Does anyone know what went wrong? It seems like the order somehow went through with out displaying the VAT number page I was told about on the phone.

Must be a new thing, I haven't ordered from them in a while. Cancel order and do it again I suppose?

Maybe I was given the wrong information over the phone, I was really careful with the order process.
I will just call them again on Monday,
