    Hey folks,

Having visited the usa on holidays 3 times in the last 4 years i really have the bug. Love it there!

    Ive being to:

Orlando - amazing place and thinking strongly of going back next year

Las Vegas - again an amazing place and would go back in a heartbeat

New York - brilliant place but want to go again nearer xmas sometime

So what im asking your advice on is where to next in the usa or that general direction? Its just my fiance and i travelling. We enjoy the bit of shopping and nightlife but these are not absolute musts!!

We were kind of thinking of maybe cancun in mexico but im not so sure abbout it. Seems more of a drinking/clubbing holiday....

Looking forward to hearing your suggestions

    Cheers

if you liked those 3 you probably will also like these:

miami especially south miami beach is one of my favourite spots in the us. miami is a great city anyway with plenty to see and do such as day trips to the everglades. lincoln road and española way has some great shopping. best time to visit is probably around april/may

new orleans is a very unique city. the french quarter (tourist area) is quite small and easily walkable. bourbon street is world famous for a reason and friday-sunday nights can be very busy. some really nice walks or boat trips down by the mississippi river

san francisco is easily the most scenic big american city i have visited. tons of things to see and do (golden gate, alcatraz, chinatown, fishermans wharf etc). yosemite national park is only a few hours drive outside the city and is a must see while in that part of the world

The US is great for driving holidays IMO. This year we're going to do a Texas road trip taking in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and a few nights at a Dude Ranch. Everything we've researched sounds great.

California is a great state too. Could drive San Fran - Los Angeles - San Diego, taking in National Parks etc.

Or if you wanted to add in some relaxation you could combine somewhere with a Caribbean Cruise (the cruises themselves are quite reasonable once you pay for flights).

You could try something really different and do a tornado-chase tour in the Mid-west. I've done several of these. You get to see parts of America you would never see on the tourist trail. Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas etc.

Not particularly comfortable or in any way luxurious, but can be great fun.

You'll see tiny towns in the middle of nowhere and meet rural people you thought only exist in 1950's cowboy movies.

Oh, of course you need to be the adventurous type for this sort of thing. It gets a bit hairy now and then - when the big storms explode with tomato-sized hail, lightning strikes, and of course the occasional big tornado :D
