You can't really buy them through any public channel. The tickets are given to clubs first, then if you're a member of the Irish supporters club you get first dibs on any left overs from club sales.

Just got an email from Leinster - they have a lottery for tickets....bet they'll have very few though. I'm in the supporters club, but don't hold out much hope when it is England and France coming to town.

Is there any word on the supporters club sale? If there even is one this year

What about getting away tickets? I'm thinking of going to the Wales game.

Leinster didn't admit how many they have. No heads up from the supporters club yet. Last year we were notified on 28 November and sale was on 3 Dec. It'll be dog eats dog when the sale opens this year.

I understand the IRFU want to reward its club members by giving them the best chance at getting tickets for internationals, but it doesn't really seem fair that everyone not associated with a club has basically no chance to go to a 6N game at home. How do you guys feel about this?

Without the clubs developing the players there is no Irish team so even though i'm not a member of a club i think thats fair enough

It is totally fair. All the volunteers that give hours and hours of their time on a voluntary basis deserve access to international tickets over the general public. You can become a member of a club for a very small outlay....

I'm in the supporters club and have never not gotten tickets to at least one game a year for 6n (even france/Ireland) years. For away games it's always easy to get tickets direct from italian and Scottish rfu.

I had no problem getting tickets last year, but this is my first year in trying for England/France games via the supporters club. Only once went to an away game - Murrayfield - and had no problem getting tickets from SRU.....and I gather it is easy enough for the Rome game too.

Hopefully you'll be lucky, they usually only allow you apply for England or France (which is fair). Don't go for the cheaper option ticket you'll have a better chance with the more expensive ones.

What's the best way to go about getting tickets for the Scotland match in Edinburgh? Seems like only the tickets for their matches v Wales and Italy are available to buy.

The club volunteers who spend hours and hours promoting the game, building the sport and running and organising the sport at social level deserve the opportunity to sell the tickets first and get the majority of tickets. Without them the sport has no base and will suffer.

+1 but while you can become a member of a club for a very reasonable price tickets for internationals will go to those who are involved in the club through playing, coaching etc first

Clubs will have sent applications to IRFU already for tickets so best off contact IRFU or Scottish Union

This is the point I'm making, if you get involved in local club and be prepared to help out, you will get tickets more often or not with exception of England at Twickenham which is out on its own in terms of demand.

It'd be great if the tickets actually went to the genuine club members because a large percentage of these tickets actually go to people who have no business being there. The tickets (through corporate channels) often end up getting in to the hands of clowns who spend half their time going in and out to the bar and would struggle to name more than 2 or 3 of the Irish team.

Its only a proportion of supporters but it is frustrating to miss out on tickets to these type of people.

That isn't really true in a lot of clubs. The overwhelming majority of tickets in clubs, branch tickets, schools go to players, coaches, committee members.
