does salt corrode ruthenium?

I'm making sterling silver salt & pepper shakers. The inside of the salt shaker needs to be gold plated as the salt would over time corrode the silver, but (as far as I understand) gold is inert and won't be affected by the salt.

Ruthenium plating is another option I'm considering. I've read that ruthenium is inert to *most* other chemicals, but can't find anything referring specifically to salt. Can anyone here confirm that ruthenium won't be corroded by salt? I have Leaving Cert level chemistry, but don't want to rely on my own inexpert opinion & end up making a very expensive but useless item! :o

    Thanks for your help!
