    Hey guys,

So im waiting for a few extractions to be done under sedation in the dental hospital. The problem is I have a number of abscesses. The consultant told me there's no point in taking another course of flagyl as I've already had one. I could be waiting up to 18 months for the procedure and im in constant agony, I've rang them many times and explained this. I cant afford to do this in a private dentist and im dentalphobic :( any help would be much appreciated :)

Have you discussed this with a dentist or just decided you are dental phobic and it would be easier for you/less traumatic if you were asleep? Local anaesthetics are amazing, your dentist will be able to numb it to the point where you will not feel the tooth coming out.

Over the last 20 years, I have found that pain has a habit of helping people to overcome phobias, your choice is clear, wait to be put to sleep or visit a dentist and get the painful one out today.

If it helps, I had a wisdom tooth removed recently, and when I asked how he was getting on in there, he said would I keep the ball of cotton in, because the tooth was already out! So it doesnt have to be all bad!

Thanks guys, the problem is its multiple extractions some of which there is no visible tooth so I was told it would have to be done through iv sedation

Just get the ones that are hurting out now, the rest can be taken out in one go in DDH.
