Pregnancy book for expectant fathers

Hello,

I am looking to canvass some thoughts/recommendations on pregnancy books for expectant fathers.

I've searched tirelessly through Amazon and other book sellers but all I find is "humorous" and borderline idiotic attempts at describing what is involved. I find most of these books a bit disrespectful to be honest.

I want to read something that explains the facts in a direct and mature way so I can understand what is involved during pregnancy and one that doesn't trivialise the issue so any recommendations warmly welcomed. Doesn't necessarily need to be targeting fathers I suppose.

p.s. If someone buys you or your partner one of these "funny books", you should politely decline or failing that beat them to death with it....

I got my partner the Irish dad's survival guide to pregnancy and beyond by David caren, he really likes it and to be honest I actually find it better to read than the one I bought for myself!!

What to Expect When You're Expecting is usually highly recommended.

Oh and I downloaded the babycenter.com app which gives a week by week guide to pregnancy and also has good information/articles.

Yeah my partner read my what to expect book too

He found it very good. The app is good too

dont think any book will do it justice....

think the mood swings are bit exaggerated by some peoples...

Really enjoyed it. He uses a bit of humour, but it's not all matey blokey crap. Plenty of useful, sensible information. Good luck!

I liked this one. It's gender neutral, both myself and my husband read it. It's handy because describes the irish maternity system fairly well. So what scans you get here, what options are available in irish hospitals.
