Seems like a bargain at $20 and says free shipping.

I have this there was a post a bout it a year or so ago, pretty sure it was cheaper than this too. And the night vision is pretty bad on it as IR does not pass through glass.

    Have one absolute rubbish.

Put in card worked for 1 min recording then just stops and none of menu or other buttons work.

You pay for what you get and if so cheap I have learnt not worth it at all.

Thanks for the warning - won't be buying it. Haven't used that site before. Will look out for a better one.

I use mine every day, everything works on it just isn't very clear at night, and I don't care if it gets robbed out of the window either really can't be arsed to take it out of the window at night either

I agree with both of the above! Complete rubbish! I bought very similar from Focalprice in June for approx €16 approx. Picture hopeless so look for actual samples of recordings before deciding to purchase. Heres a screenshot of mine and see what you think. Im not even using it as its so bad!

If it has any redeeming features... the viewfinder is ok and the mounting bracket is very firm and adjustable!

This guy does a great review of various Chinese Dashcams on the market.

that could be any one of 20+ different clones of the same camera, some bad, some not so bad and some actually good.

I have a 720p one of these in the back (formerly in front, but since replaced by a mobius) and it's grand for what it is.

if you're buying a dashcam, you are very likely to want to be able to identify another driver or their vehicle so you need to be able to read number plates in case of any issues and 640x480 isn't going to cut it, you need 720p bare minimum, preferably 1080p if you can, so i'd avoid this like the plague for that reason if nothing else.

Absolute rubbish. A stone and a piece of chalk would take a better picture.

There is no "night vision", it's a cod.

In daylight, your phone would take a significantly better capture.

sory guys i never read the specs , iv the exact same one but in 1080 HD Resolution , the one OP has posted is only VGA (640 x 480) , thats not good enough to make out number plates etc.

head over to motors and ask there where to get a quality one them guys know , i got mine from dealzextreme as someone posted a link there to high quality ones with a 32gb memory card for less than 30 euro :)

Ir passes through glass just fine..
If ir didn't all those greenhouses would be a whole lot colder

    UV doesn't pass so well

The problem is that enough of the IR is reflected that when you put one of these things (or any camera with built in IR) behind glass, all you see is the reflection of the IR, not what's on the other side of the glass.
