Something about the story does not add up.

First they say the door fell off in the Brandenburg countryside but then they say "about an hour in to the Journey they heard a big thud"

A Learjet 60 must have been hunderds of kilometers from Brandenburg (area around Berlin) after one hours flight time from Berlin to Dublin.

If it had happened early enough into the flight they could have returned to DUB. That would have been a sort of homecoming.

The pilot should take some Pride in his skills. Police on the ground searching for the door still haven't found what they're looking for though.

I thought after all those action films I watched over the years he would have been sucked through the door at such force he would have landed in his beloved Africa.
Then he would have found out how much the people of Africa "loved" him.
God damn Hollywood letting me down again. (Great plot for a movie though.)
