    People,,
    I'm getting a little tired of using Shipito - they are slow and ask for top up fees just to maintain a 'virtual mailbox'
    Is there anybody offering a service in a personal capacity in the US.? I would like someone who will research the various postage methods and split the package ( to keep the weight down ) US browsers - please feel free to respond.

    Yeah I was gutted when the parents told me we had no relatives state side! Often wondered if there were some kind of website where someone might do a favour forwarding stuff to a non-US resident.

    Well, there are plenty of commercial companies who do it - myus.com/shipito /reship etc. The problem I find with them is that they default to a set menu of postage options. For instance if the package is over 4.5 lbs you can't use USPS airmail economy unless you split the package.
    I try to avoid the couriers at all cost as you are guaranteed customs and vat charges.

    The problem is who else to use ? The shops I deal with ( mostly hardware ) default to FedEx or some other very expensive courier.
    Somebody offering to bring a container over once a month would make a fortune ?
