Proof of PPSN?

Hi there, I need to apply for my learner's permit and the NDLS requires proof of PPSN but I don't have any documents on hand that I could use. Does anyone know of anyway that I might be able to request such a document from somewhere? I'm not currently in employment (I'm a student) so I don't have any tax documents or P45s on hand; I was in employment last summer though, is it possible for me to request a document from the Revenue?

Yes. Ring or email revenue and ask for a P21 Balancing statement for 2013. This will have the date they print it on it and will be accepted. If u type your pps number into revenue.ie contact locator you'll find the correct contact details for them

Just go to or ring your local Dept of Social Protection Office (used to be known as Social Welfare Office) and they will issue you with a letter stating your name and PPS no. it's far faster than going down the Revenue route.

They will usually do it over the counter if you call in to them.

You might even get a tax refund as a nice surprise.

You can use an old payslip from when you were working last year. Doesn't matter how old the proof of PPSN is.

Most places wont accept a payslip as proof of PPSN. Anyone can make/issue a payslip. Only revenue can issue make a Tax Cert

OP have you check to see if you have a E111 european health insurance card. They have PPSN on them

You definitely can use a payslip. I was in a month ago and I used my payslip as proof of PPSN. It's listed on the NDLS website also.

Your college probably asked for some sort of proof on enrolment. I know schools do. Medical card, E111, DPS card, they all have your number on them.
