Castrol edge v magnatec

Have a drum of castrol edge(5w 30) at home which I use for my own car, but want to change the oil in my friends 05 Corolla 1.4 d4d. Castrol site recomends magnatec(also 5w 30) for this car.

Anyone see any issue putting edge in this car seeing as both are 5w30.

    Thanks

    dan

Can't see that being an issue tbh. Some people out 10w40 in without issue.
Edge is better than magnatec anyway.

Edge is a higher spec oil than Magnatec so it is fine to use in place of Magnatec. Obviously if it was the other way around it would not be ok.
