S/H Family car to replace an 06 Mondeo

I bought an 06 Mondeo in 2009 and have found it great.
I am now looking to replace it and my instinct is to get a ~ 3 year old Mondeo again. Any thoughts on the 2011/2012 Mondeos or on other similarly priced family cars?

    I am looking for:
    - ~ 3 year old
    - ~ 30,000 miles (50,000 KM)
    - Family hatchback
    - Isofix
    - 2 L
    - 6 gears
    - Diesel
    - A bit of comfort and handy things like cruise control, Bluetooth handsfree for phone etc.

    I do ~ 25000 - 30,000 miles/year (40,000 - 50,000 KM).

I know very little about cars, just that the 06 Mondeo has been very comfortable and very reliable. It is also very frustrating that this family car didn't have ISOFIX, but I think that has been resolved in the newer models.

One quick extra bit of info:
When I was looking the last time, I found that the Avensis, Passat etc. were all significantly more expensive than the Mondeo, and they didn't seem to be significantly better. Maybe this has changed?

A 2.0 TDCi mondeo would fit the bill alright.
Mondeos are always cheap second hand. You might find it hard finding a 2.0 though, as the smaller engines sold better.

Any idea why second hand Mondeos are cheap? Is there a view that they are not as high quality as Toyota or VW etc?

They're in plentiful supply, they're the typical fleet car in the uk, values over there are low, and that translates to the price over here too. Mondeos never held their money second hand.

Personally I don't like the newer mondeo, I find it much bulkier (my last car was a jaguar s type, and the mondeo is bigger than that) than the old one and I think the interior is a step backwards from the old model.
They're very good value though, and if you want a big car (big back seats etc) its hard to make a case against them.
