Live Tweeting Other Folks' Business

Live tweeting the random conversations of strangers seems to be a growing trend, whether on planes or in restaurants. On the one hand, if people don't want strangers knowing all of their personal business, then maybe they shouldn't discuss doctors appointments, baby's daddies, or weird rashes on the bus (oh the stories I could tell!!!). On the other hand, people should be able to interact in public - even if they are on a a bad date - with the reasonable expectation that, unless they are being completely obnoxious, their behavior and/or conversations aren't going to be broadcast to the rest of the world.

Is live tweeting your random neighbor an invasion of privacy or just a sign of the times (or both)? I think it's pretty weird and invasive, but I'm an old fogey who doesn't understand the point of Twitter anyway, so what do I know.
