    Hi.

For the season that's in it. ..
The only pub in the city with an open fire I can think of is jack nealons and perhaps the swan. Anyone know of others?

    Is Glasnevin considered city?

The city goes the far side of Santry as far as I know. Why wouldn't it be?

It was a genuine question. Though it stopped around clonliffe road and dorset street in the northside.

Generally speaking 'the city' is considered to be the area(s) inside/bordered by the two canals.

The Duke just off Grafton St had one last time I was there

Messrs have at least one upstairs. If you go to publin they'll list out which ones do. Problem is you can't know any day if they'll have them lit. Oh Madigans on Abbey St does, nearly always going too.

@gm. I know it was a genuine question, why do you think I thought otherwise?

@mk. If the OP had said City Centre I could understand your conclusion, but I don't know where you're getting "generally speaking" from. I along with many others would consider that area covered by Dublin City Council to be the city.

The bar in Buswells on Molesworth has a fire.

So does McGrattans but it's not always lit and it's in the (covered) smoking area

The Long Stone's, if they still have it, is quite special, framed by the Norse god Baldur...

Apologies I meant city center. I'd appreciate it if the definition of city centre could happen in another thread.

Mods can we change the title to city center please.

Whelans on Wexford St often have a fire in the day-time. Or at least they used to. It's been a while since I was over that way.
