fan for insert stove

    hi guys
    i got a stanley cara insert stove.im just wondering could i put one of those free standing fans on my mantlepiece? would it work from the heat of the stove? its a wooden mantlepiece.

    It wouldn't work. It really needs to be sitting on top of the stove. You could get a small battery operated desk fan and leave it on the mantlepiece (i bought one on ebay a couple of years ago). Turn it on now and again. Best to get rechargeable batteries and a charger for it aswell - sometimes these are on offer in Lidl/Aldi.

    If your wooden mantle piece gets warm then it will work.
    If it does not get warm it won't.
    Stanley Cara is a convection based stove so it really should not need it.

    cheers for the comments, i might leave it then, it does throw out good heat as it is. just wanted that bit more
