Cutting fibre optic strands

    Bought a cheap fibre optic christmas tree from argos, and there is one strand sticking out about 6" beyond the tree. Can I cut some of it off and will it still work.

    Yes, once there is nothing "downstream" of the point that you cut it off from.

    They're not real fibre optic..just plastic conducting light. Cut away...no power in them.
    anyhow real fibre optics only carry laser or LED light.
