    Hi,

I'm looking for help choosing a laptop.
I'll be using laptop mainly for itunes, movies and Football Manager (no other games).

    Choice is between;

    Asus 17inch screen - iCore 3 2.4Ghz with 6Gb RAM

    or

    HP 15 inch screen - iCore 5 1.7Ghz with 8 Gb RAM

I just want a laptop that will be fast. No freezing, ability to run lots of windows at same time etc.

Can anyone explain which one is better for this? Processor Vs Ghz etc

    Thanks!

For starters, its "core iX" not "iCore x", intel arent apple :pac:

What are the actual CPU numbers? There are 4 generations of i series processors, a 4th gen i3 is similar to a 3rd gen i5 for example.

Post the full names like "i3-4030U" and we can advise.

Neither of them have model numbers listed, it is impossible to compare.

    I give up haha

Can anyone offer me any advice based on all the specs i pasted up above???

I like the fact the Asus has bigger screen, more Ghz and apparently have longer lasting life?... but smaller core?

I like the fact HP has touchscreen, has bigger core, but smaller screen and less Ghz?

GHz, is the core speed. so according to your specs, the I3 is a faster core than the I5. (size wise they are actually much the same.)

However, not knowing the actualy series number, we can't advise on the likely onboard graphics, which will make a difference, depending on what you want to do with it.

But just from those 2 laptops, I would go with the asus.
They are a better brand all round, HP's are prone to heating issues and hardware failure, not to mention a feck load of bloatware.

Thanks very much for your help. Its funny you mention overheating as thats what happened to my current HP. Albeit after 5 yrs! I'll go with the Asus for a change. Also like the biggee screen!

    Thanks again

Wherever youre buying from, don't. If they can't even post the complete spec of the item they arent worth your time.
