As I was making my morning commute two lads in the seats behind me were having a bit of an argument. One lad was insisting that there's no way for ticket inspectors to check whether a Leap card is tagged on or not, while the other was saying they can.I was sure I had read somewhere on here that ticket inspectors can scan Leap cards, does anybody know the truth of the matter?

Yeah. They used to be able to check the paper prepaid tickets that you had to put up against the reader, that is also the reader for leap prepaid tickets. The inspectors use a stick thing that looks like a hand held metal detectors in an airport. It tells them the ticket details.
